The Story of the Bible is for you,
and it is all about Jesus

The Bible begins with God as creator, who made everything.
He made people as the pinnacle of His creation,
and He gave us minds so we could interact
and make decisions and understand things.

He also made us with feeling hearts free to choose or reject Him,
and capable of experiencing real relationships.

God did this because He wants real relationships with people,
even though there is a risk of our disobedience,
just like in all real relationships there is that same kind of a risk of rejection.

The sad truth is that people did reject God, all people reject God,
and because of this we are separated from Him by our rebellion and disobedience,
which is what the Bible calls "sin".

Sin is basically all the bad stuff that hurts people and separates us from God,
and, because of sin, all people are not wholly good
and so we cannot make it up to God or correct it ourselves in any way.

All people need help.

The good news is that Jesus is that help.

Because Jesus is God's Son,
He lived a perfect sinless life,
and then He died for us, in our place,
so that we could be fully forgiven.

This is how we can have relationship with God, through trusting in Him.
Jesus even rose from the dead as proof of who He was
and as a promise to us of our eternal life to come if we place our trust in Him.

It is our sin that separates us from God
and Jesus dying for us pays for our sin so that we can be forgiven.
That is the only way that we are able to experience
real personal relationship with God.

Trusting in Jesus as our Savior from sin
- and to save us from separation from God -
is what salvation is and how we come to be in relationship with God.

That is how we then can grow closer to Him
and experience His love for us
for the rest of our lives and forever in eternity.

That is basically it - we need Jesus,
because we can't be right with God on our own, or any other way,
and God gave Jesus because He has always loved us,
even though we don't deserve it,
and we cannot have salvation or relationship with God
unless we place our trust in Jesus.
